Pelican Perch

Nice view huh? That’s Alabama across the water to the west. Look to your left. You'll see what looks to be a series of ramps all along the tarmac. They may look like boat ramps but actually during the time of WWII, Bronson field was a seaplane facility. The pilot cadets trained in PBY aviation right here over Perdido Bay. There are 5 ramps in all. Due to the effects of erosion over time, only two of them can currently be used as boat ramps.
This cache was placed with the permission of Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area. This is a family friendly cache. Dogs are permitted in the park however you must follow the strict 6-foot leash policy. Please do remember that Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area is a federal military installation. Please park only in designated areas and abide by ALL the parks rules and signage.
Thank you for your cooperation and we hope you come and have some fun exploring our park!
