Geocache Description:

Welcome to Pink Hill Station!

Up the road, there’s an old church and a cool Virtual Cache with some great historical tidbits of the area.  This cache is located on the property of one of residents of the area now.  I’m told that when the houses were built south of the road, the owners found artifacts of broken pottery, nails, and glass from the old town, and there’s some speculation that the town well was at the top of the hill.

When you read the history of Pink Hill, you learn that when the railroad went in to the south of town, so went the residents. Pink Hill never did get the railroad station they wanted, but there are some nearby train enthusiasts who like the idea of a train station at Pink Hill.  So here you are!

Since the small children and the grown ups couldn’t agree on the size and difficulty of cache, we decided to make single stage cache with a “bonus” cache.  The loggable cache is a xs/nano size cache. Bring your own writing tool.

For kids and adults who like swag (or Trade-For’s, as my little cachers call them), you’ll find a clear container to the southeast of the cache, near a bunch of tall grass. There’s a “log book” especially for kids who really want to sign a log, but don’t often get to.  No usernames or legible letters required.  Please do NOT leave trackables in the bonus cache. Finding the bonus cache is NOT required to log the main cache.

This cache is placed with permission of the owners.  They will be spying on you whenever they happen to see someone searching. Give a friendly wave! No night caching, please.

Parking: you may park on the driveway to the east of the two mail boxes.  No need to go past the split-rail fences.  The ground on the west of the drive can be very wet and boggy, so please do not pull onto the grass on that side of the driveway.
