Quonset Hide
This old tunnel like structure is a bunker probably used for storing artillery or as an emergency shelter or both. There is at least one more bunker in the area. See if you can find it along the trail. Over time these bunkers, like many other structures throughout BANRA, have gradually been taken over by weather and vegetation but their footprints still remain. This park has a lot of history and there is plenty to explore.
This cache was placed with the permission of Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area. This is a family friendly cache. Dogs are permitted in the park however you must follow the strict 6-foot leash policy. Please do remember that Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area is a federal military installation. Please park only in designated areas and abide by ALL the parks rules and signage.
