Geocache Description:

This cache has flitted from one spot to another in The Woodlands, all for a variety of reasons, but usually due to the destruction of its habitat. This site now marks its 5th landing spot in the area.

The praying mantis is named for its prominent front legs, which are bent and held together at an angle that suggests the position of prayer. The larger group of these insects is more properly called the praying mantids. Mantis refers to the genus mantis, to which only some praying mantids belong. This essentially is a park and grab with no more than a 50' - 75' stroll to the cache, the last 25' segment in a lightly wooded area. Parking is available along the wide paved shoulder of Gosling Road at the listed coordinates. There is no reason to enter the gated area directly to the west.
