Lloyd Thurston, A US Congressman was a famous native of Osceola, Ia. He served in the Army during the Spanish-American War and was elected to represent Iowa’s 5^th and 8^th districts in the US House of Representatives from 1925 to 1939. He also served as a Member of the Iowa State Senate from 1920 to 1924 and as a Candidate for United States senator from Iowa in 1938.

The cache is hidden on the edge of the cemetery.
