Geocache Description:

The third in a little series of off the beaten path caches.

The Koonung Creek Reserve follows the Eastern Freeway and Koonung Creek for a significant length. There is a great bike path as well as several playgrounds and a fitness trail as well as several wetlands.
One day whilst out on a bike ride with Trixie&Toby to visit one of the playgrounds, I noticed a gravel path heading into the bush near the freeway so off we went to explore. What we found was another path which we followed all the way to the Doncaster Road tunnel. We named this the Secret Path.

There are a variety of sound walls in use along the Eastern Freeway, this one is a simple high wooden wall which does work to reduce the traffic noise somewhat - especially noticeable when on the exposed sections of the secret patch where the traffic noise is significant. Anyway, this is a very quiet part of the secret path with the main path some distance away and in a gully to further block views. I got some varied readings when determining the coords of this one, so I will say the cache is on the wall! Again this is a bison camoed to suit it surroundings and is a little fragile, be especially careful when replacing to ensure the mounting method works as intended!
