Groblje Trsat

Ministarstvo kulture – Uprava za zaštitu kulturne baštine, Groblje Trsat, proglasilo je 2006. g., trajno zaštićenom kulturno-povijesnom cjelinom koje ima status kulturnog dobra te je upisano u Registar kulturnih dobara Republike Hrvatske – Listu zaštićenih kulturnih dobara.          

Groblje Trsat u Rijeci otvoreno je 1901. g., a temelji se na kvalitetnoj regulatornoj osnovi. Na groblju se nalazi velik broj kvalitetnih grobnica i grobova po projektima eminentnih hrvatskih i lokalnih, riječkih i sušačkih, arhitekata i kipara (Rendić, Emili, Kolacio, Sila). Postoji i veći broj grobova osoba značajnih za hrvatsku povijest (Trnski, Ramous, Turković, Ružić i dr.). Unutar groblja sačuvana je oblikovna matrica regulatorne osnove, građevine i raster komunikacija. Usprkos uvođenju skromnih elemenata novijeg stilskog razdoblja, ukupni je arhitektonski korpus ujednačen, čak i u proporcijskim odnosima. Spomenička jezgra groblja smještena na niskom platou gdje su locirane najveće grobne kapele bogatijih sušačkih obitelji.

Grobna polja zasnovana su tako da ih obrubljuju vrjednije grobnice, zamišljene na trajno čuvanje, dok su se u sredini nalazili skromniji grobovi, koje je moguće zamijeniti ako budu napušteni. Ovakva koncepcija osigurala je očuvanje osnovnih elemenata i rješenje same osnove. Hortikulturno uređenje groblja kao spomen parka (zelenilo među grobnicama i pojedinim dijelovima groblja) predstavlja element oblikovanja cjeline i predstavlja važan spomenik pejzažne arhitekture.

Trsat Cemetery

In 2006, the Ministry of Culture – Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage declared the Trsat Cemetery a permanently protected cultural and historical unit with the status of a cultural good, which is included in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia – List of Protected Cultural Goods.           

The Trsat Cemetery in Rijeka was opened in 1901 and constructed on a high-quality regulatory basis. The cemetery includes many high-quality tombs and graves made according to the designs of eminent Croatian and local (Rijeka and Sušak) architects and sculptors (Rendić, Emili, Kolacio, Sila). There are also many graves of persons significant for the Croatian history (Trnski, Ramous, Turković, Ružić, etc.). The forming matrix of the regulatory basis, buildings and cemetery pathgrid communication have been preserved. Despite the introduction of modest elements pertaining to a more recent style period, the total architectural corpus is unified, even in the proportional relationships. The monumental core of the cemetery is situated on a low plateau, where the largest grave chapels of wealthier Sušak families are located.

Grave plots are defined by the borders of more valuable tombs, designed to be preserved permanently, while the centre features more modest graves, which can be replaced if abandoned. This concept ensured the preservation of the basic elements and the arrangement of the foundation itself. The horticultural design of the cemetery as a memorial park (greenery between the tombs and certain parts of the cemetery) represents an element of forming a whole and is  an important landscape architecture monument.
