During the construction fase of Sasol 2&3 this area was called Silkaatskop. It was an area between caches Silkaatskop 1 and Silkaatskop 2 . This area was used for temporary housing in form of parkhomes,asbeshouses and sement houses. There even was a school and a shop and hundreds of people used to stay here until permanent houses were build. You can ask the older people in Secunda for more history of Silkaatskop
