Geocache Description:

Welcome to SCGA Eastern Seaboard Challenge. Clearly this Challenge is not for all Geocachers as only a few have, or will have, the resources, time and desire to travel to all 14 of the States that make up the United States’ Eastern Seaboard.

The name of the United States' East Coast derives from the idea of the United States as having two distinct coastlines, one at its west and one at its east. Other terms to refer to this area by cardinal direction include the term "Eastern Seaboard" and simply East Coast. The region is also commonly referred to as the "Atlantic Coast" or "Atlantic Seaboard" due to the coastline being against the Atlantic Ocean. Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, and Vermont have no Atlantic coastlines, but they are grouped with the Eastern Seaboard states, due to their location in the Northeastern United States and New England respectively, when referring to the East Coast.

This Challenge cache is intended to be sort of a “Reward” Challenge Cache for those Geocachers who have gone to the expense and effort to be able to meet these qualifications.

I wouldn’t post a challenge I hadn’t already completed so I can tell you the adventure of seeking caches along the East Coast is a lot of fun. Oh, the places you can see! Plus you get to experience more regional Geocaching creativity.

To claim the smiley for this challenge, you must have found a cache in each of the 14 states that touch the Atlantic. The are from North to South; Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

To prove that you have meet the Challenge requirements is very simple if you permit the public to view your statistics map (As Shown Above) on your Geocaching.com profile page, or use MyGeocachingProfile, Project GC, or other profile software that shows the States where you have cached, then I can easily verify your log . Noting this in your found log will be helpful

If your Geocaching profile does not allow any of the above methods for verifying you have found geocaches in these 14 States, you must list the 14 qualifying geocaches finds in your log. For each cache find, you must list the State, GC number, cache name and date you found it.

I have rated this challenge cache 5.0 Difficulty and 5.0 Terrain due to the extreme difficulty and travel required to accomplish this challenge. The container with the log is a magnetic key holder hidden at the coordinates and has a D/T rating more like a 2/2.
