La Badia San Savino è situata a Montione, frazione di Cascina, vicino al fiume Arno. Fu costruita nell'XI-XII secolo in stile romanico, e originariamente seguiva la regola benedettina. Nel XVII secolo passò all'Ordine di Santo Stefano, e nel 1795 fu venduta a privati. Il complesso ha una struttura di monastero-fortezza, le parti più interessanti sono la chiesa, a navata unica (vi raccomando la visita) ed il campanile rettangolare, distrutto dall'esercito tedesco in ritirata nel 1944 e ricostruito negli anni 1990. The abbey of San Savino is situated in Montione, a hamlet of Cascina, near the Arno river. Built in the 11th-12th centuries in the Romanesque style, it was originally following the Benedictine rule. During the 17th century it was assigned to the Order of Saint Stephen, and in 1795 it was fell into private hands. The complex has a monastery-fortress structure; the most interesting parts are the one-nave church (I recommend its visit) and the bell tower, destroyed by the German army in 1944 and rebuilt in the 1990s.
