Geocache Description:

Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Huddleston, Virginia is in a beautiful area and provides opportunities to geocache, hike, camp, bike, and a variety of water related activities. A Virginia State Parks Geocache Placement Application has been completed and submitted for the placement of the Snake Eyes Cache. The cache has been placed with permission and in compliance with all requirements for placing a cache in a Virginia State Park.


While geocaching in the area take advantage of the recreational opportunities the park provides. Visit the Park's Visitor Center and Discovery Center to see the displays and learn about the area's history. The cache you are seeking has been placed in a non environmentally sensitive area near the established White Tail Path Trail. The White Tail Path Trail will take you to within a few yards of the cache. Trail maps are available at the Visitor Center and the kiosk near the boat ramp. The cache is accessible by boat and/or vehicle. The parking lot at the boat launch area is the closest access point to the cache. From the parking area take the White Tail Path Trail to the cache. To access the area by boat use the public dock located about 100 yards from the boat ramps and proceed to the White Tail Path Trail.
