This cache is dedicated to the memory of our beloved cat, Jolie. She was, to many, a shy cat who disappeared whenever we had visitors. To us, however, she was the sweetest kitty ever! She was diagnosed with cancer more than a year and a half ago and had been doing quite well with her chemo treatments. Her health, however, took a sharp decline at the beginning of the year. As my wife said on January 10th, 2015, “A tiny, kitty-shaped piece of our hearts broke off this morning. We will miss you so, sweet tiny girl.”
We miss her a great deal. We’re sad that we’ll never hear her belt out her quick “meow meow” whenever we sneeze. It was her way of saying, “bless you”, we like to think.
We’ll miss when we are pulling clothes out of the drier and after turning away for a second, looking back to find these big eyes staring back at us:
Every night, after my wife and child were in bed, I would retire to my office and work on the computer (or play) and every night I would hear Jolie meowing as she approached the office with a toy dove in her mouth. She hunted that thing every night and would always bring it to me. She would drop it nearby and then come to me so I could pet her and hold her. As she purred, she would look up at me and give me little kisses on my face.
There are many many more things that we will miss about our little Jolie. She leaves behind her older sisters, Kylie (our dog) and Bella (below), and her younger brother Harley, whom, we think all miss her almost as much as we do.
