St John The Baptist Church Stadhampton
An original church was sited here as long ago as 1146, but as usual, throughout the centuries, major reconstruction has taken place, mainly in the 16th century.The bell tower houses two bells dated 1621, but unfortunately the bell frames are unsafe & a peal has not been heard for many years. The clock however, is regularly wound & keeps fairly good time. St John's Church is however fairly unusual in that as well as being a consecrated Church in which regular Sunday services are held, after extensive renovations, it now serves as the Stadhampton Village Hall, which can also be hired out for various Village events.
Parking is easy anywhere on the green outside the Church, and therefore allows of a simple Cache and Dash. You are looking for a smallish camouflaged Cache, roughly twice the size of a 35mm canister, with room only for the log book and pencil . This can be a high Muggle activity area, so stealth, or much taking of photos, or tying of shoelaces may be needed. It has been necessary to replace the cache after being Muggled, and GZ is now, hopefully, invisible to Muggle eyes, so please ensure invisibility by replacing well out of sight.
