"Ring of Fire" is a song written by June Carter and Merle Kilgore and popularized by Johnny Cash. The song was recorded on March 25th, 1963 and became one of Johnny Cash's biggest hits. It ranked No. 4 in CMT's 100 Greatest Songs in Country Music in 2003 and No. 87 in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
When we first started geocaching, there was already a cache in this location. The area where the cache was had been burnt and I remember searching around in the black ashes and getting them on my clothes...wondering why anyone would place a cache here! We logged a DNF that day. Turns out, the fire was recent and the cache had gone missing so it was archived. So in memory of one of our first caches, we placed a really easy one up here...the view isn't half bad either!
