It is pretty much a 'Cache & Dash' except that parking on the main road, A308, is not recommended. There is plenty of parking within a short walk. Crossing the road at one of the islands would be the safest if the road is busy. In the winter of 2013/14 the river reached the foot of the signpost. The A308 to Egham and Staines was indeed closed because the road was flooded from a half mile further down river.
A small plastic phial just large enough for the log and a pencil stub. It would be better to bring your own pen. The log is big enough for a stamp. Please replace it hidden from muggles but so that the next finder can reach it.
