Geocache Description:

Battle of Falling Waters

On an early morning on July 2, 1861, The federals – Co. I, the 15th Pennsylvania Volunteers was left to rest while their Captain explored the road ahead. As they waited they stacked their arms and relaxed near the split rail fence awaiting his return.

As they rested, Suddenly a blue-clad Officer approached and ordered them to dismantle part of the fence to allow his passage. As they complied and the Officer gained the road he drew pistol and allegedly said “Surrender or your dead men”.
The Officer in blue-clad was Confederate Lt. Col. J.E.B. Stuart, along with members of his regiment closely behind.

Col. Stuart escaped with his 45 prisoners, and the results of his strategy was herald through the South as a brilliant affair.

Hidden among the Split Rail fence and Natural surroundings you will locate the regular sized lock-n-lock cache hidden inside a natural host.. Log sheets, stash note and swag allows for room for smaller trackables.

Parking is provided at the cache site, Plenty of passersby and Muggle activity so Please use your best Stealth techniques to keep this cache from being Muggled. A True interest in History will provide for cover while searching for the Cache
