St. Andrew's was first formed when 3 Methodist congregations (Old Bank, Knowle and Northorpe) came together to form a new congregation here in 1965. The building is a little younger, completed in 1969. The front of the church has some noteable features, including the 'obelisk' and a small Garden of Remembrance, where one of my relatives is comemmorated - so this is a special place for me.
Those good at maths will note that 2015, when I planted this cache, is the 50th anniversary of the forming of the 'new' congregation - so "happy birthday St. Andrew's' !!
FTF: Overanout, extremely quickly!
***May 2017 - the original cache has disappeared, so we've replaced it with a new one. The container is a little larger, but still in the same place. ***July 2017: Sorry for the delay - we've replaced the container again. It's a little smaller than the original, and we've relocated it slightly. To find the new location - 10 steps southwest from the original location, up a little then look under the loose stones. Beware of the thorns! ***September 2017: Having been muggled YET again, another small move. Still 10 steps southwest from the original location... then look down low. No longer under stones.Magnetic. *** September 2018, and there's another new cache container. This one's not magnetic!
