THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!
Welcome Winkelried,
The last 2 years you've shown a great thirst for knowledge. Anytime we'd go hiking you'd ask about some obscure topic like: nuclear energy, quantum physics or how to solve global warming. A weird coincidence was that this usually happened on the uphill section of a hike, but I digress. Anytime you started acting like an old lady at the end of a hike I would burst forth with a long talk about some technological marvel. Inspired, you'd instantly be quiet and begin devouring the information.
I have sensed a little bit of doubt in you before. It was whether you will ever get to use this knowledge in a useful way. After all quantum physics is only used by a few select physicists. However luckily for you, today is the day that all your hoarded away knowledge will be useful! I have prepared a CLOSED BOOK (and internet) pop-quiz to help you recognize the use of your knowledge. If you answer the questions correctly, it will reveal the coordinates to your prize. Get them wrong and you will be wondering around aimlessly kicking yourself for having forgotten some crucial information!
Your reward has been thoughtfully placed so it is within reach of someone with a Mercedes. With the escalating amount of grumbling lately, it won't be long.
Since the test is on the internet there will be several questions I have not told you the answer to in the last 2 years. They are questions that can easily be answered by someone with your background.
AA BB.CCC
DDD EE.FFF
Q. What is the difference between straw and hay?
AA = 50, They are both made from dried grass however straw is cut into smaller pieces.
AA = 51, Straw is made from dried stalks of cereal plants while hay is made from dried grasses
AA = 52, Hay is made from dried grasses while straw is made from non-dried grasses
AA = 53, Hay is much lighter than straw
Q. Does Switzerland hold regular referendums on key issues facing the country?
DDD = 113, False
DDD = 114, True
Q. How were the oil sands formed?
CCC = 585, A pipeline burst and enormous amounts of oil were deposited where the oil sands are now
CCC = 587, Thousands (maybe millions) of years ago an oil reservoir started leaking causing the Athabasca river to deposit the oil in the oil sands
CCC = 589, Oil was formed at the location of the oil sands and all the lighter fractions evaporated due to being exposed to the air causing only the bitumen to remain
CCC = 591, A crazy scientists invention to turn sand into oil succeeded. He was subsequently deported to our Southern neighbors and our government initiated a massive cleanup effort
Q. What does Quantum physics explain?
FFF = 99, Deals with E=MC^2
FFF = 100, How some physical quantities can only change by a certain amount or a multiple thereof
FFF = 101, Predicts how gravity affects a mass traveling at a certain velocity
FFF = 102, predicts how different atoms interact with each other
Q. Which type of nuclear reactor is claimed to be meltdown proof and therefor much safer than today's reactors? Hint: The Oak ridge laboratory ran this type of reactor from 1970 to 1976 before being cut off from funding due to political reasons.
EE = 07, Boiling Water Reactor
EE = 08, Pressurized Water Reactor
EE = 09, Molten Salt Breeder Reactor
EE = 10, CANDU Reactor
EE = 11, Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactor
Q. How was coal originally formed?
BB = 00, Ancient sea creatures which died, fell to the ocean floor and subsequently compressed and heated over millions of years.
BB = 01, The remnants of ancient dinosaurs which got stuck in mud holes and were subsequently buried
BB = 02, Old forests which were compressed over millions of years
Once you believe you have the correct answer, you can verify your solution here.
