Salmon Run Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache Sleuth: The Corps of Engineers has decided to make Salmon Run into a fee area. That is, you now have to pay a daily fee or purchase an annual pass to enjoy any of the activities - including geocaching - on this part of the Summersville Lake property. We don't believe that geocachers should have to pay for the privilege of looking for our caches, so we are taking down all of our hides - including this one - that are located in the new fee area. We apologize for any inconvenience this decision will cause. Thanks to all who have enjoyed hunting for and finding this one over the years!

Geocache Description:

A small traditional cache hidden just off the access road to the Salmon Run Recreation Area of Summersville Lake.

To get to the cache from U.S. Route 19, turn onto Airport Road, then make an immediate left hand turn onto Salmon Run Road. From there, just drive and follow your GPSr to the cache. There is plenty of parking at ground zero. In fact, you should be able to park within just a few feet of the hiding place.

The cache is a 6 oz. snap-lock box that contains a log sheet, mini pen, and several small trade items.

This is a tourist area and there can be a lot of people around at times. Please be alert and use stealth when retrieving and replacing the cache so it will still be there for the next searcher.
