Geocache Description:

This is one of four  geocaches we put out to add to our 'Fairy road' geocaches of Pampered pomeranian, Dotty Dalmation etc to make a gorgeous circular walk starting and ending at the Tourist Information centre in the village centre where you will find ample parking.

This Glen was once bustling with miners living in 'shanty towns' when the Strontian mines were at the height of their productivity in the 18th and 19th centuries. One such town was called New York after the company that owned the mines at the time. In the river, below you, old bits of glass and pottery can be seen from these 'townships'.

This can also  be done as a 'drive by' cache.

We have named all our geocahes after dogs as the Hairy spangle (spaniel) is an important if completely useless member of our team!

Well done WA+MK for just beating nessones for FTF. X
