This is one of four caches we put out to add to our 'Fairy road' caches of Pampered Pomeranian, Dotty Dalmation etc to make a gorgeous circular walk starting and ending at the Tourist Information office in the village centre where there is ample parking.
This glen once bustled with life when the Strontian Mines, up in the hills, where at full productivity in the 18th and 19th centuries. There were many 'shanty towns' where the miners lived and looking up the glen there was one such township called New York, named after the Company that owned the mines at the time. Sometimes bits of glass and pottery can be found in the river from these townships.
This can also be done as a 'drive by' cache with a teeny weeny walk. (park by church on 'main' road)
Please DONOT try and drive down the track to the next cache - you will not get through and will get laughed at (when stuck) by the local muggle school children when they are out foraging for chips
We have named our caches after dogs as the hairy spangle (spaniel) is an important if totally useless member of our team.
