Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Little Big Econ State Forest.  You seek an ammo can which is not at the posted coordinates.  Don't go there.  If you pay attention to the attributes, you might just succeed in finding it.  Assuming you don't get eaten...

It was a dark and stormy night.  The scent of piracy wafted across the waters.  The sounds of oars creaking and sails flapping could be heard to the east.  Why are we here, at the Snow Hill Bridge?  To solve the age old mystery of Captain Jack Sharrow, my great, great, etc grandfather!  (Yes, Hollywood got the name wrong.  Are you surprised?)

It was a rather mundane Thursday, as Thursdays go, in May, of 1863.  Capt. Sharrow had sailed his ship, the Mauve Pearl, (another Hollywood screw up), up the Econlockhatchee, in search of a place to hide his treasure.  I found a few clues digging through old family diaries, which you might use to guide you on your quest.

At the listed Stage 1 coordinates, it seems Capt. Jack utilized some bizarre unheard of technology, called a Channeling Hertz Inversion Receiving Process, to broadcast a signal which can be detected by compatible devices.  For you Georgia Bulldog fans, (or anyone else as technically minded as your average grapefruit), you might find some numbers nearby which could help you on your journey.

Capt. Sharrow sailed downstream a couple miles, where he located a set of great metal towers, apparently held together by great metal ropes.  He made a stop here for shore leave, setting up camp till darkness fell, pitching tents and grilling dead animals.  It is quite possible he left another clue here, in the form of an odd cypher, or code, comprised of numerous black squares set on a white background.  This bit of code might be rather difficult to locate, though your perseverance should pay off.

Once the sun set, Capt. Sharrow assembled his crew, continuing eastward to a beautiful palace on the shore, where much revelry commenced.  After consuming many steins of ale, Capt. Jack, in a drunken stupor typical of his kind, left yet another clue, which, if I've interpreted the diary properly, is only visible under a unique spectrum.

These clues, left by my occasionally dimwitted ancestor, should lead you to his treasure, tucked safely under an oak tree shaped like a velociraptor's foot.

This is a night cache.  In order to be on this property at night, even for a brief period, requires a camping permit, which is both inexpensive and simple to obtain. Just give a shout to Joy, at the Little Big Econ State Forest, during banker's hours, 407-971-3500.  She'll hook you up.  You will also need some sort of vessel, to carry you along the way, and all the requisite safety gear paddling at night requires.  Please be mindful of all the critters who call these woods home, to include very large alligators, venomous snakes, wild hogs and feral cattle.  If interacting with such critters is not something you are comfortable with, might I suggest sticking to film cans in lamp post kilts?

Happy hunting!
