The church in Ulceby or "ulvesbie" as it used to be known was constructed in the 13th century and in 1967 it recieved the protection of a grade 1 listed building, only 2.5% of listed building get grade 1 protection meaning it is of national importanant historical asset.
The church is rare in the fact it has a medieval spire which most local churches do not. The spire is built of limestone and was addeded 100 years later than the 13th centuary tower which houses 6 bells and is built from ironstone and even badly corroded it's still 3 feet thick in places!!!. The rest of the church was altered and added to over the years with the most recent major alteration work was 1876 when the south porch was built. Work after this date has always been restoration work. It is belived the font is Norman or even earlier and predates the current church.
The Church has special significance to us as we were married here in 2009.
You are looking for a disguised micro, The cache isn't placed on church ground, the listed co ords are for a notice board where you will be able to gather information to get the northings, a walk around the church will get you the westings for the final location.
The Co ordinates are N 53° 36.866′ W 0° 19.903.
Hopefully in the future we can set this up again but unfortunately due to recent works the co ordinates can no longer be worked out.
