163 Days Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GeauxTeam!: This hurts my heart. This cache has a special place in my heart, and has almost 50% of finders left favorite points but they just removed the actual bridge. After being on the other side of the river from Duluth, getting mistakenly archived by HQ when Duluth had their paid geotour and appealing and getting it reinstated, Duluth and John’s Creek are building a new bridge across the river to create a new multi use trail. 106 years of history gone, but hopefully the new replica bridge will be a nice place to walk the Geopup and maybe create a zombie cache…. Thanks for being a part of our adventures!

Geocache Description:

Continuing our series of caches to honor the days of our streak and the CO's that hid the caches to help us get there...

This one is not an easy park and grab though.  Some of the best days we had caching were when we went for tougher caches in more interesting locations.

I chose 163 days because when I lived in San Diego, my apartment was right at the end of the 163.  I tried to find some San Diego themed location here in the Atlanta area for that number.  Balboa?  Nope- 1 street in Norcross that has nothing but houses and 1 in ATL that's just a cul de sac.   San Diego?  Nothing.  Vantage Pointe was the name of the apartment buidling, and also a neighborhood in Alpharetta- but it had no tresspassing signs all over.

So that means this cache is hidden in a place that nobody in their right mind would associate with San Diego.

This cache will take a little bit of a walk, but it's an easy walk and you pass 2 other caches on the way, so that's nice.  Although you technically can be there at night, I wouldn't recommend it.  It's probably not the best for little kids, although someone had set up a very tiny beach chair nearby when we were there so maybe others would disagree with that.  The location has some cool history, so if you're into that, you should check that out.
