Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Cootamundra Lawn cemetery. The cemetery is located just on the outskirts of Cootamundra, turn left just before crossing the bridge coming from Harden.

To find the cache you need to turn right into the carpark of the Lawn Cemetery using the track. This cache is in memory of our Nanna Frances Moore (aka Ward at time of her passing). Frances was born on 11 April 1920 at Coolum, Sussex, UK, married Alexander MacReady in 1940 at St Paul’s church, Mill Hill. Frances and Alexander had 2 children.  In 1951 Frances gave birth to a son from another relationship. Frances and Alexander were divorced in 1954 and she married Harry Moore who sadly passed away in 1970 just before embarking on a 3 month holiday to Australia to visit her eldest daughter who had emigrated with my father and me and my twin sister in 1966, so took the trip on her own.  She liked Australia so much that she decided to emigrate to Australia on 22 December 1972 on the SS Arcadia. The trip took 3 months and she visited Canada, America, Panama, Fiji before finally arriving in Sydney February 1973. She purchased a house in Cootamundra that year and lived there until 1992.  She married Joseph Ward in 1993, sadly she passed away in the early hours of 28 May 1996 in the Cootamundra hospital. She was buried in the Cootamundra lawn cemetery on 31 May 1996.

The cache is a small size, you will need to bring a pen to sign log book. Please return cache to its original hiding place take time to walk around and look at the magnificent historical gravestones in the main cemetery and we hope you enjoy this little piece of Cootamundra history.

While here you can also look for LKA Simply "Huddo" Simon cache in the nearby Catholic area of the main cemetery.
