This cache is #5 in a series along a 60+ mile bicycle route covering all the bayou trails in Houston. Each cache in the series is spaced approximately two miles apart. The full route starts in the Inwood area, follows White Oak bayou southeast towards Memorial park, Buffalo bayou east into the downtown area, Brays bayou to the southwest, Buffalo bayou again on the western outskirts of town, and finally back across the roads to the starting point.
This cache is located on T.C. Jester between the White Oak bayou and Buffalo bayout trails. T.C. Jester is one of the city's marked bike routes where cars and cyclists share the road with each other.
The bridge here crosses over the Eureka rail yard which, in years past, was a stop for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (Katy) railroad. Much of the rail line that belonged to this company has been abandoned over the years. To the west, the rail line was paved over during the expansion of the Katy freeway, and to the east, it was converted into a bike path leading from the heights area into downtown Houston. The City of Houston intends to eventually connect the White Oak trail and the Heights trail into one continuous bikeway.
