Geocache Description:

This is our first ever Geocache, and it's named for a piece of public art called "My Heart Belongs To Hastings" commissioned to be part of Hastings' Coastal Currents Art Festival in 2012, and was put in place on 23rd September that year.

Fittingly, we placed it on Valentine's day ...

Log sheet replaced on May 25 2015

New container as the old one had had it :-(
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - the cap is fiddly so especially if you have cold fingers try not to lose it!!!!!

Raised the difficulty a notch to "2" as the muggle factor is high round here and you have a fair bit of searching to do in full view...
NOTE NOTE NOTE - a nearby cafe has placed tables and chairs right by the location so ULTRA-STEALTH CLOAKING DEVICES ON PLEASE!!!!!
Just a note - it's a sneaky one, well hidden but in plain sight!!!!!

My Heart Belongs to Hastings is an exciting public art commission by a company with an international reputation who have won many art awards, producing high quality, innovative celebratory arts projects involving large numbers of people. The project, My Heart Belongs to Hastings is unique to Hastings. The commission will become a permanent sculpture in the town on the seafront.

Individuals from and visitors to Hastings will have the opportunity to contribute and be part of the sculpture. People will decorate a padlock with messages, love tokens and initials weaving coloured threads, beads and jewels to a random padlock key as a reminder and souvenir of their participation in the artwork.

Each padlock will represent an individual member of the community, who will all contribute their personalised padlock to the artwork.

The sculpture will be created using reclaimed greenheart groyne timbers from Pevensey Bay coastal defence work, each wooden post weathered by years of saltwater and spray.

The cache is a nano, at about waist height so accessible to wheelchair cachers as well.

You won't need tweezers!

The area will be teeming with tourists at most times of the year but especially summer; please use stealth, and perhaps take a few minutes to have a cuppa and sandwich at a nearby Cafe to while away a few minutes while picking your time!

A big WELL DONE to Bella's Pack for FTF!
CONGRATULATIONS!
