This walk takes you from the village of Checkendon, out through the beech woods, passing the equestrian centre and returning to the village.
It is approximately 4 miles and although you might canter through it, it is not suitable for either horses or buggies in some parts. One track, the route to CRC 10, is quite narrow and young children will have to be led carefully along it. You may encounter cattle in the field between 17 and 18.
The tracks are mostly in woods and can get muddy in wet weather. You will certainly see horses and between numbers 3 and 4, you will have to cross through a field with horses in it. You may also encounter sheep near the end. In the Springtime, you will be treated to a display of bluebells. We have given clues as tree coverage makes getting co-ordinates difficult.
Since we first planned the walk, another series has been placed at the outside edge. This now provides an extension for the energetic, or a break for others.
