Splish Splash Splosh: Snookered Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

BalooCrew: Unfortunately, we have to archive this unusual geocache. The final hiding place (Part 2) of the geocache has been destroyed because the local authority has dismantled and removed the original structure and are currently building a new footbridge. Once they have completed their work we will see if we can place a new geocache in its place. In the meantime, a big thankyou to all the geocachers who have visited this one.

Geocache Description:

A moderately challenging puzzle cache; one a number of "water-themed" caches - either in the puzzle or cache location. The difficulty reflects both the puzzle and the hide. The cache is not located at the given coordinates. The correct coordinates can be obtained by solving the puzzle below.

Baloo loves chasing balls and sticks but snooker completely confuses him because there are too many balls to chase, as well as a stick (cue).

Snooker is a cue sport that is typically played on a table covered with a green cloth or baize, with pockets at each of the four corners and in the middle of each of the long side cushions. A regular full-size table measures 11 ft 81⁄2 in × 5 ft 10 in (3569 mm x 1778 mm), commonly referred to as 12 × 6 ft. The game is played using a cue and 22 snooker balls: one white cue ball, 15 red balls, and six balls of different colours. The red balls are initially placed in a triangular formation, and the other coloured balls on marked positions on the table known as "spots". Players execute shots by striking the cue ball with the cue, causing the cue ball to hit a red or coloured ball. Points are scored by potting the balls into the pockets, in the correct sequence. A player receives additional points if the opponent commits a foul. A player wins a frame (an individual game) of snooker by scoring more points than the opponent. A player wins a match when a predetermined number of frames have been won.

After recently watching the World Snooker Championships on television, poor old Baloo was so confused that he completely forgot where he had hidden one of his caches. Somewhere in the puzzle below is the answer:

Part 1: START

The cache contains only a log sheet to sign. The log must be signed to claim the cache (just seeing the cache is not sufficient).

Please note that this area is very popular with dog walkers and may be busy at weekends. Please use STEALTH AT ALL TIMES when retrieving and replacing the cache.

Although access to ground zero is available 24/7, we strongly advise against doing this cache in the dark as it will be virtually impossible to find the Stage 1 information in the dark.

PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHE EXACTLY AS YOU FIND IT
