Geocache Description:

I am not sure if this island has a name. The area to the north is called Section Bank. The area to the south is the Northern Breakwater. In April 1831 Captain Collet Barker sailed in the Isabella following the shore as close as possible from Cape Jervis to Port Gawler. He discovered an inlet, which was 10 – 12 miles long and concealed by a ‘spit of sand’ projecting at right angles to the mouth. The inlet bears his name. Perhaps the name of the island is Barker's Spit.
