There and Back 5 - A Bridge Too Far Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

vincent1960: Due to extensive work going on down the river I have decided to archive the whole series and hopefully set a new one up when all works are finished, as the amount of land and trees that has been dug up has removed caches.

Geocache Description:

This is a circular walk around the River Rhondda containing a variety of different geocache containers.

This is a circular walk containing a variety of different geocache containers. It is set around the River Rhondda in the Ferndale area and shows how much the valley has regenerated since the mines were closed. Recommended parking is at the Rhondda Life building which is called the Glynrhedyn, from there you will need to walk down the road to Greenwood Park and past the Mining Memorial to take the path down. The caches are both sides of the river and can be accessed from a number of different places including the Rhondda Fach Sports Centre. Watch of for wildlife including Herons and Wild Ducks and you maybe able to see Salmon or Trout in the river. We have tried to keep the caches close to the paths but stealth will be needed as this is quite a popular walk and is also part of the National Cycle Network. This is a circular walk containing a variety of different geocache containers. We decided to add this one to the series as some cachers stated that they had crossed the footbridge above the path by mistake, and we wanted to help make sure everyone went the right way. The cache is a Magnetic container.
