Geocache Description:

This is the first cache on my "Three Little Summits" loop hike. It starts on Hwy 66 approximately 3 kms west of the winter gate at Elbow Falls. When the gate is open and you park on hwy 66 at the suggested spot the hike will be 4 kms with an elevation gain of 300 m, all wind fall can be easily avoided. When the gate is closed and using my route the hike will be 10 kms with an elevation gain of 400m. My route circumnavigates a lovely hidden valley much used by feral horses, that is located on the southern flank or a ridge that lies between Powderface Creek and hwy 66. The three summits are on this ridge which has been, for the most part, ignored even though it has interesting features from its cliff bound eastern end to the summits at the western end. It should provide a pleasant 1.5 to 4 hour adventure on this not often visited ridge, depending on your route and what you are up to of course.

All three caches are elevated and winter friendly, see spoiler photos.

NOTE: This is still a vigorous off trail hike with all the usual foothills hazards. It is best to take a friend, make noise and always carry easily accessible bear/cougar spray.
