Geocache Description:

This is a series of 6 winter friendly caches placed as a means of giving back to organizers and players alike of COAP 2014-15 ( as well as earning me a few letters required for a Scrabble Word ).

I was introduced to this trail courtesy of K57’s wonderful puzzle series which he retired in 2014. On a gloriously sunny day in March of that year I snow shoed in along the snowmobile trail from the parking lot noting signage along the way which suggested some type of event taking place. Just a short way into this secondary trail I came upon a large group of people gathered in front of a blazing fire before a building that turned out to be a Maple Sugar Shack. Before long I was engaged in a conversation with the enthusiastic landowner who told me that they owned all the land on the southern side of the Moore Rd. While we talked her daughter came up excitedly and told her that an owl was perched in a tree down the trail. We all went to see it – a large barred owl – first I’d ever seen in the wild. I was so impressed with the sighting and the area that I asked if it would be OK to place caches so others could visit and the landowner said an enthusiastic “Yes!” . So there you have the story. The circuit of all six caches is a trek of just over 3 kms. Enjoy!

***** CONGRATULATIONS ****** to pollywog56 on her "snowmobile avoiding " FTF on this one and the entire series !
