This area, once several private parcels of land, has now been restored to an amazing habitat conservation area. The primary goal of this project was to remove rip-rap along the channel edge, and reintroduce channel migration into the area to promote fisheries rearing habitat. This beautiful area is now managed for conservation purposes by the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe for wildlife also, and should be enjoyed respectfully. So park at the designated area, and if you feel up to it, stroll down through the yellow gate towards the river. Depending on the season, you may see Eagles, spawning salmon or elk, otters etc. Oh yes, you are looking for a smallish container. Bring your pen, and enjoy.
