Geocache Description:

FORMER SITE OF INTERNATIONAL TABLE TENNIS FEDERATION

Most people probably don't realize that this area was once a major sporting locale for table tennis. People actually came from hundreds away to watch the world's most famous ping pong players. The site was called, "Bridgeport InternationalTable Tennis Federation."   There were big tents and lots of clowns to entertain the spectators.

The roads were not very good, and the horse-drawn buggies often got stuck in the ruts of the roads. When I was a boy, I used to bring the players some water jugs and twinkies.

If you look carefully around the area, you might still find some relics of that long gone era.
