Geocache Description:

In September of 2013 I found a cache just south of here.  What peaked my interest more than the cache was this bunker.  As soon as I got home, I dialed up the old 56k modem and logged into the internet via my newly upgraded AOL 3.5.  What I found out was amazing.  In 1829 twin brothers were separated at birth.  Oliver Winchester was sent East, while Wilbur was sent to California.  You already know Oliver’s story, so I’ll skip that.

Wilbur wanted to be like his brother and get into the arms business.  But he wasn’t bright, so he enrolled at San Jacinto and took night classes.  It turns out that Wilbur was a great arms builder.  The only problem is that he was nothing like his brother.  He misunderstood one critical fact.  Yep, Wilber got good at making prosthetic arms.  Wilbur now had a warehouse full of arms.  There wasn’t even a choice.  They were all lefties.  Wilbur knew of the great land battle just south of here between the 15 and 215 freeways.  Temecula wanted that land.  Murrieta wouldn’t surrender it.  Temecula had the manpower, just not the arms.  Do you see where this is going?  Wilbur was now in hiding.  He decided to build a bunker to protect himself.  When the Temeculans stormed the bunker throwing all their left arms, they found the bunker empty.  You see, Wilbur was 56 years old and was actually living it up in Sun City.  He tricked them.  They were looking in the wrong place.

So what have we leaned here?  I don’t know.  I’m having fun.  Now it’s your turn to have fun.
