Sponsored by Harris County Precinct 4, the 2015 Precinct 4 GeoChallenge features a series of 57 geocaches that participants can find for the opportunity to earn pathtags. The 43rd geocache is located in Meyer Park. Meyer Park is a 180-acre facility with 26 soccer fields (ten are lighted), two unlighted softball fields, a basketball court, barbecue pavilion, gazebo, paved trails, nature trails, duck pond*, a three-acre fishing lake*, picnic tables, barbecue grills, two age-specific playgrounds, 15 exercise stations, recycling bins, and rest room facilities.
*Swimming, boats, canoes, and kayaks are not permitted in lakes or ponds.

Archeological Site
During a Harris County Flood Control District maintenance project in 2006 to stabilize, reshape, and regrade the banks of Cypress Creek near Meyer Park, artifacts were discovered during a cultural resources investigation.

Fishing
The lake at Meyer Park is stocked each year with rainbow trout by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and also contains bluegill, channel catfish, and largemouth bass. Catch-and-release fishing is encouraged.

Trails
The Gourley Nature Trail, named in honor of Genevieve and Robert Gourley who donated the easement, connects Collins Park with Meyer Park. The trail is approximately a half-mile long and 10 feet wide. Additionally, the Cypress Creek Flood Control Coalition (CCFCC) provided funding for the benches and signage located along the trail through a $10,000 grant they received from REI.
Geocaches are located throughout Precinct 4 from Greens Bayou Wetland Mitigation Bank in the east to Dyess Park in the west and Roy Campbell Burroughs Park in the north and Memorial Park in the south.
Each geocache contains unique collectible bottle caps and a unique code, either of which can be used to earn pathtags. Simply write down the code on your Precinct 4 GeoChallenge Series Passport and/or collect a bottle cap to prove that you have found the cache. Those who collect 20, 40, or all 57 unique codes/bottle caps can earn bronze, silver, or gold-level pathtags. Only one of each bottle cap is allowed per participant please.
