The first burial is believe to have been in 1863. The Atlantic Cemetery Association was organized in 1874, and then the cemetery was established in 1875. 1909 saw the construction of a mausoleum. Later on removed in 1968, the bodies in the mausoleum was then buried in the cemetery. There are 870 recorded interments, and the cemetery association employs from one to four people.
