Located just outside of Anita, Iowa.
From the 1860's and until 1879, Grant Township provided the land for a cemetery. In 1879 an association of lot owners formed the Evergreen Cemetery Associations of Grant Township. This older cemetery no longer exsists as all graves with identifications markers were exhumed and transferred to the newly formed Evergreen Cemetery. Granted permission in 1971, the Association changed names to the Anita Evergreen Association, Inc. and operates in a non-profit manner. While smaller than it is today, tracts of land were purchased and today the cemetery operates in 15 acres of land.
