Taking its Toll (Taranaki) Traditional Cache

This 'gingerbread' style cottage is the only tollgate in any New Zealand national park.

Rahiri Lodge was built in 1929 to house the park boards gatekeeper who collected a toll and controlled traffic on what was a one way road.

Please taks some time to read the small information board and enjoy the beauty of this rustic cottage.

Cache is a purple nano, hidden inside a camouflage item outside the picket fence. There is absolutely no need for you to go into the fenced area, as this is for park personal only.

Please replace cache back inside its camo holder carefully 

This is on the main road up the mountain, beware of driveby muggles and PLEASE watch your children near the road.
