A very easy to walk footpath along the River Spey, a very scenic stroll. Once in a while there are benches to relax and watch the river flow by or to watch the fishermen.
But please do not drive by car - it is a footpath and just the fishermen have permission to drive here.
I recommend to leave the car in Aberlour, cross the footbridge and start at GC5EV2Q, follow the road to your left .....
Most of the trail has a solid road surface and is suitable for buggies, bicycles, etc.
This is an official path and you and your doggies are welcome to enjoy a walk. However during the fishing season it's the Fisherman's Area, so please be respectful, discreet and take care not being watched - watch out for muggles.
The fishing Season started Feb11 this year (2015) and will end Sep30. There is no fishing on Sundays. For further information about Fishing in the Spey I recommend to visit: www.speyfisheryboard.com.
The final is a place where the poachers hide their illegal catch...
Go to Waypoint 1 and look what they have done with poachers in old days! There are different items still at the site they used for the punishment! Have a closer look, what is "growing" out of the tree at the right? (there are seen two of it but use the singular). How many letters does this word have? = A The Final is: N57° 28.1(A+2)9' W3° 15.1(A-1)8'
There are two junctions you can use to reach the caches of the "Beauty of Speyside" Series - but those paths are more "rural", a bit muddy after longer rain and of course, these paths go uphill.
Enjoy your walk and HAPPY CACHING!!
Congratulations to CGUK for being the FTF :-)
