In 1869, Earlham IA was planned and laid out when the railroad reached that point. Named after Earlham College, a Quaker college in Richmond, IN. Earlham was then incorporated on April 26, 1870. One could safely assume the cemetery was plotted out around the same time. Earlham Cemetery is a big place, where one website lists 1,509 interments, another lists 1,697, while yet another lists 3150!
