Geocache Description:

This is an event to celebrate Pi day on 14 March 15 (3.1415).   Join us between 3pm and 4pm to celebrate Pi Day and Albert Einstein's 136th birthday at a geocaching event. By attending and logging this event you will get a special Groundspeak souvenir.

Tankengine tells me that there have been Pi and Pie events in the past, so rather than this being a new event in Canberra, this event is now reprising a Canberra tradition!

The event is being held 14 March 2015 from 3 - 4pm at the DicksonWetlands. Bring along your favourite pie shaped snack to share, or a snack that you would need Pi to work out its area or volume :-) So, obviously pies (savoury or sweet), but could include round biscuits, donuts, pizza, freckles, canned drinks, drinks in thermoses, etc.  There is no obligation to work out the area or volume of the snack being provided, but for those who wish to do so, feel free!

We have located this event in North Canberra, as there are so many mystery caches in this part of town for people to collect before or after the event. If you log a mystery cache on this day, you can get a second souviner! If you do not have a solved one ready to collect, no doubt there will be plenty of opportunity to gather hints from other cachers or COs. There are even a few Pi based puzzle caches in Canberra if you want to really get into the spirit :-)

The location has plenty of road side parking and some seating, but feel free to bring extra seats along.  Please also bring along trackables to share, path tags to swap and info to share or collect on nearby puzzle caches. Kittykatch and AngelG27 will take care of tables for the snacks, plates and cutlery, and ice. If we get really organised, we will get a photo taken at 3.14pm!

Just a friendly reminder to sign the log when you attend the event :-)

A weird thing about Pi that maybe you didn't know...if you hold a mirror up to Pi, it spells Pie!  See attached image (when published)
