grid58: This cache and others which were formerly placed here have always been on private land. However, there were established rights of way for public and also a freedom to roam within the limits allowed by the law (for instance no camping, removing livestock, etc). Over the years this has become a popular place and as seems to be the case urban humans are unable to visit places without leaving lots of litter and avoidable damage to the special woodland there. Consequently, the land owner has had enough and has attempted to restrict visitors by limiting access to only certain paths and certainly no roaming. I am not sure about the legality of this in the event that it was challenged under the roaming rights laws of a England but this is not a battle for geo-cachers so I am archiving both caches in theses fine woodlands. This cache is on a recognised path however, it is easily conceivable that geo-cachers may inadvertently not meet the landowners stipulations hence sadly I have decided to archive it.
