Up until 1915, this cemetery was just a family cemetery for the Denny family. It was at that time the cemetery was named Washelli, which means West Wind, so one could also call this Cemetery the West Wind Cemetery and still be correct. In 1919 the Evergreen Cemetery company started a competing cemetery on the opposite side of Aurora Avenue, by 1928 The Washelli, cemetery company had taken over the Evergreen.
Just north of the cache you will notice that there are several differant sections to the cemetery, Russian, Luthern, Jewish and a few more all along the north side. These were at one time each a separate cemetery, but by 1930 they were all under the Washelli umbrella.
You are looking for one of my regular sized signature cylindrical containers. Located where the base of the trees meet. Your best approach is going to be from the side of the tree opposite the service road. It's a pretty seep embankment, but it's only about 10 feet, down to the base of the tree so use caution getting down there and back up. The container itself is camo taped and once you get down to the base of the tree it will be in plain sight.
Getting in the cemetery From Aurora Ave North AKA Highway 99 there is an entrance to the cemetery about 0.2 miles south of 115th Ave north. Alternatively there is an entrance off of Meridian Avenue North between 133th street and N 112th Street. The Meridian Avenue entrance is closest to this cache, but since your already here consider driving though the cemetery, having a look around and finding the other cache in this cemetery GC5N94X Spirit Quest - Washelli Cemetery I.
The Posted hours at the cemetery are from 7AM to 8PM or dusk whichever is earlier. While you are here please take your time and look around, and enjoy all of the history here, but remember to be respectful, since the cemetery is still active it is possible that there could be mourners or other visitors that might not understand what we are doing. The cache is located at the base of a tree, you are looking for one of my signature cylindrical containers, the hint should lead you right to it. There is no need to disturb any graves or monuments, and no need to walk past the no tresspassing signs the cache is not accessed from there.
