This geocache is at the start of a lovely walk (with another geocache at the far end) through the Sunart Oakwoods. These oakwoods are all that is left of a forest that once covered the whole of the west coast. Look for the masses of moss and litchen. These indicate the high rainfall (!) but also how clean the atmosphere is.
There is a carpark nearby and this can almost be classed as a 'drive by' cache as it is only just off the road.
All our geocaches are named after dogs as the hairy spangle (spaniel) is an important if totally useless member of our little team.
