Sehome Hill Arboretum, a 180-acre park nestled between Western Washington University and surrounding neighborhoods, offers 5.9 miles of winding trails up, down and around the hill. Nature lovers may witness birds amongst the canopies of towering evergreens. There is an abundance of indigenous plants, shrubs and trees. Deer are also abundant at the arboretum; a haven from the increasingly-developed surrounding area.
The geologic formations are fascinating as well. Western Washington University campus sits in a valley between two sandstone beds of the Chuckanut Formation.
