Getting There
From the parking lot at AWARE, take the Mountain Top Trail, marked by cairns, to the intersection with the Mountain View Trail.
The Mountain View Trail is marked with blue dashes on the rock outcrop and on trail-side trees.
Hidden Meadow
This trail quickly leads to a quiet, open meadow surrounded by woodlands. After hiking across the exposed rock of Arabia Mountain, the shift into this softer landscape can feel unexpected… and honestly, a bit refreshing.
Before the trail was built, this meadow was hidden from view and largely unknown to visitors heading toward the mountain top. Today, it offers a different perspective of the Arabia landscape, where open grass, wild growth, and forest edge come together.
Meadows like this often sit between ecosystems, creating space for a wide variety of plant and animal life. Throughout the Arabia Mountain area, forests, outcrops, and open fields overlap to support diverse habitats and seasonal change.
Through the Seasons
Each visit here can feel a little different depending on the time of year.
In spring, new growth pushes up through the meadow, and nearby areas of Arabia Mountain begin to show wildflowers and seasonal color.
Summer brings thick green grass and a quiet, shaded edge along the surrounding woods.
In fall, the nearby hardwoods shift to warm tones, giving the meadow a softer, golden feel.
And in winter, with the leaves down, the space opens up, revealing a broader view of the land around you.
The cache is located about 60 feet off the trail in the adjacent woodland.
