House Ruins
The remains found here are typical of small homes built around the turn of the 20th century. Like many similar structures across this region, this home may have been abandoned during the Great Depression of the 1930s, when many farming families left the land in search of new opportunities.
House Ruins
Today, only fragments remain, but they offer a glimpse into a time when this area was more actively lived on and worked. The surrounding woods have slowly reclaimed the space, blending the past into the present landscape.
Part of the trail follows an old woods road that once provided access to the house. Walking this path gives a sense of how connected these homes once were to the land around them.
Getting There
Parking is available at the Arabia Alliance parking lot on Klondike Road.
From there, take the PATH Trail a short distance to the path leading to Vaughters' Farm barn. At the barn, take the north fork of the Meadow Loop Trail, marked by orange-tipped guide posts.
Continue to the intersection with the House Ruins Trail. Follow this trail, marked by white stripes on trees, to reach the ruins. The cache is located downhill from the structure.
