Pi Day Celebration
Outside the Waterfront Building, 19 Neptune Quay, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 1QJ
Saturday 14 March 2015
1.45pm-2.15pm
Photos at 1.59pm
Come and meet other local cachers and celebrate Pi Day. There will be chance to chat about our geocaching adventures and perhaps get a few hints for those elusive puzzles needed for that second souvenir! GZ is a flat, pedestrianised area with plenty of nearby parking (for both cars and boats.) Cycles can also be secured at GZ. Children and pets welcome, but beware nearby busy streets.
There will be a container for discovering and swapping trackables and if you want to make a day of it, there are plenty of caches nearby, as well as plenty of scope to admire the boats and building sites of Ipswich [:)]
The chosen location is the question mark sculpture in front of the University Campus Suffolk building on Ipswich's Neptune Quay. I was going to hold the event in a nearby coffee shop but then inspiration struck and I thought what better way to mark Pi day and the opportunity of getting a souvenir for bagging a pesky little "?" icon? Okay, not a revelation on the scale of Newton and gravity, or even Archimedes in his bath tub, but it will do!
We will meet at GZ from 1.45pm then between 1.59pm and 2pm precisely (to make it pi to 6 decimal places 3.141592) (okay, I may be cheating a bit) we will gather in front of the question mark sculpture for the obligatory photo before milling around chatting. I'm sure some people will be happy to stay and have a coffee and chat further, or to set off for some caches.
All attendees can claim FTF if that floats your boat!
There is a large flat car park within a minute's walk of the venue.
